LEWIS KELLER - SOUND DESIGN

Lewis Keller is a sound artist based in Los Angeles. He is interested in the perception of time, timbre & space & exploring how technology fits into & fights against life.

He finds sounds in electromagnetic radiation, contact miked objects, field recordings, hacked & repurposed consumer items, & found objects in addition to more traditional instruments.

Lewis builds instruments from junk, electronics & computer code. He also composes & performs for & with people, computers & spaces. He is an active composer, percussionist, installation artist, audio engineer & educator & has done sound for film, dance & theater as well as for the concert stage & gallery.

Lewis holds a B.A. in music from Colorado College & an M.F.A. in Experimental Sound Practices from CalArts.
